RED N BLACK POT HOLDERS N MUG RUG

Being only a beginner in patch work quilting,I enjoy making small household items rather than elaborate designs, till I learn this art very well .I was planning to quilt a few pairs of simple pot holders for myself before making a few more of them as gifts for my frnds and relatives.. Luv this red n black combo a lot, even though the prints do not match a kitchen theme at all...Well its only a part of my learning process!..:)

Quilted Coasters and Tea Cozy

I have this habit of collecting beautiful kitchen plate towels and transforming them into something else..I don't quite like the idea of spoiling their elegance by hanging them in the kitchen all damp and shabby after wiping wet dishes.. Last week I found some very attractive kitchen towels at a home center sale..I bought a few of them..Each set had three pieces that matched each other...My fingers were getting restless till I transformed them into two tiny patchworked and quilted coasters and a tea cozy!!..Few days ago I got another chance to visit the same store again..This time luckily I cud find a matching runner..I was a little reluctant to buy it as it was bit expensive, but finally decided to buy it as it wud match the coasters and the tea cozy. For the tea cozy I used different prints on either side..On the striped side I have appliqued a leaf that I cut from the leaf printed piece. The holder on top is a piece of cotton lace with a strip of camel coloured ribbon drawn thru it.

MY PORTRAIT DONE BY SIGY SUSAN ALEXANDER

This is my wedding day snap that has been portrayed by my immensely talented friend SIGY SUSAN ALEXANDER..You can see some of her other awesome work, in her FACE BOOK profile(SUSAN ALEXANDER).After going thru the albums of her creations,a sudden idea struck me to own a portrait of mine done by her. Quite unhesitatingly she agreed to my request .I sent her a close up snap of mine as I thought it wud help her to have an idea of my features more clearly. Within a few days she sent me a mail and an attachment that made me wonderstruck!!She has portrayed me with the utmost originality.Hats off to you Sigy!!May God bless you to come out with more of such brush strokes in future!!..Wish you all success in life............Mini Binoy

WINTER SERVICE

Star specked sky on a winter night..Can see a chapel and snow clad fir trees as well..Silver metallics have been used to stitch the snow covered ground..Though a simple design this is one of my favorites..It was stitched about 10 years ago.
